Traditional - Modern - Contemporary

Initially, the dancers explore their own potential in a safe place. They are guided by their inner needs, not by an external observer’s perspective. Later, this view is important for advanced dancers: the intimate space opens into a stage and new rules characterise the further development of their practice.

The Raqs Sharqi dance class is preceded by deep relaxation. Stretching and relaxation exercises tailored to the female energy system deepen the connection between the body and the earth. This self-awareness is the basis for learning the figures of Raqs Sharqi. In this way a solid dance technique combines with vibrant self-expression.
